The Moonlight Luxury Chalet

We found the home to be perfect. It had all of the amenities of my own home. It was easy ski on ski off to Moonlight Basin. A surprisingly great ski resort. Would definitely stay here again

Our family of six and brother's family of four combined our vacations for the third year, staying for a week at this gorgeous spot with the easiest ski-in and ski-out we've ever experienced. The home is beautiful, solidly built, snug and cozy with spectacular views of the mountains. You can literally hook into your skis right outside the front door and skate 100 feet to the ski run down to Madison Lodge where the ski school takes off in the morning, then ski back for lunch and at the end of the day and slide right up to the front door again without taking your skis off. Because of the ski-in and out ease we came back for lunch most days and relaxed with soup and sandwiches together. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked with plenty of large stockpots, a lasagna pan and baking sheets/pans to accommodate all the dinners we made for everyone each night. The owner is a potter who hand threw all of the tableware in the house as well as many decorative pottery pieces throughout the living spaces. The bedding and towels are ample, and the beds extremely comfortable. With two king-size beds, both couples were very comfortable and all five teenage boys fit comfortably up in the loft. The third bedroom has two twins where our two daughters stayed very comfortably. There are ample dressers and huge closets so you don't have to live out of your suitcases. The hot tub is gorgeous and the key to after-ski comfort and fun. The house is a combination of radiant floor and electric baseboard heat so it is evenly warm and comfortable, with several humidifiers provided to keep the house at a healthy humidity. The furnishings are all very comfortable and beautiful "cabin" style with lots of leather and heavy wood, and the artwork hanging throughout the home is original and evocative of the breathtaking surroundings. There are comfortable, well-stocked bathrooms for each bedroom, TVs in every bedroom, the loft and the living room for everyone's convenience if you are into movies (or college Bowl Games), and a large dining table that seats up to 10 plus 3 at the counter. Everything is in pristine condition, the unit was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and Acra left us a bountiful welcome basket with a lovely personal note. She and her husband Chris are a great resource for local sightseeing and dining and other adventures. We love this spot and look forward to future vacations spent here! The pictures, while stunning, can't do the house justice!
